Back on the home school track

I never really thought that Andrew would want to return to home schooling, but here we are. This area has a really NICE group that does field trips and tries to get together once a week. We've been to the park the last couple of weeks, and it was a lot of fun.
I was concerned that Andrew would think that just because he was home again, he wouldn't have to work as hard. So far, he seems very motivated and gets everything I set for him to do (7 subjects/day!) done in about 5 hours of steady work. No goofing off, no piddling around-just gets to it and gets it done. I'm really pleased with his effort and his output so far. (ok, so it's been 3 weeks, but still!) He is pleased to not get up and jump on a bus, and fight the crowds at school. I needed a break from things myself, when Dave went to Iraq, and now I'm really glad to get back to it. There are only 3 more years and he's off to college, where ever that may be. We'll enjoy these 3 years, maybe doing more fun things and checking out more colleges than we would have if he'd only had spring break to do it.

Now if only I knew if my laptop was recoverable, I would be a TOTALLY happy camper! :-) Of course I meant to call today, but I got interested in a book and forgot until it was too late. oops!
